Resilient Bridgeport reflects on the city’s past while looking to its future long-term economic trends. The plan outlines a staged revitalization for Bridgeport and its diverse communities by fostering connectivity, innovation, production, and exchange. This unified framework contains four zones: Downtown, Pequonnock, Black Rock, and South End. The four zones use hard and soft lines of defense, economic lines of vitality, and resilience centers for safety in times of emergency. The proposals require the Bridgeport residents to reclaim their identity and redefine what it means to live at the water’s edge.
